CSRS Implementation
Study Objectives
The overall objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of the Canadian Syncope Pathway in multiple Canadian EDs using a stepped wedge cluster randomized trial (SW-CRT) on health care efficiency and patient safety.

Stepped wedge, cluster randomized trial, with clusters (hospitals) crossing over sequentially, in random order, from control to intervention phase

Control Phase
Usual care – physicians can evaluate and have final disposition for syncope patients as per current protocol.
Intervention Phase
The knowledge translation of the CSRS practice recommendations with the availability of outpatient cardiac monitors in ED and expedited outpatient follow-up when needed for CSRS medium/high-risk patients.
